I spend a lot of time writing. I write all kinds of texts too. If you are lucky enough to be able to read and write then, hopefully, you also know the joys of writing for pleasure. I hope that you don't just view it as a chore. I write a lot, writing comes in all shapes and forms. At work I write reports, at home I write messages on the whiteboard, at uni I write academically but my favourite kind of writing is fiction. I think I love being able to sink into another world, to let characters come to life and to be able to share that with the page in front of me. Eventually, I hope to share some of my stories with you, but the main reason for this post is to try to explain why I write. This is a more difficult topic than it might seem.
I'd like to share lots of ideas on writing and maybe some other things here. I hope it will be useful for you in your writing, and if you haven't ever written something for pleasure, I hope you might start. I'd love to hear your ideas, so feel free to comment below or write a response to one of the prompts, or if there's a particular topic you'd like to know more about, feel free to contact me with requests and I will try to write you a blog soon.
So, why do I write, and more importantly, why should YOU write? I believe I write because I have to, every so often I have this intense need to create and share something with the world. In all of my stories, it is often the characters that drive my story. The chracters whisper in my ear, we long to live, and I just have to write it down, I have to make them real. I also feel that I'm lucky because I can write anywhere any time. And while it is hard to find the time, I can write for 10 minutes or 2 hours, I don't mind being interupted, but I'm also happy to write non-stop. As I said, I write because I have to, because I need to spill my ideas out onto a page.
In a greater sense
